I'm Mila, a home cook and recipe creator based in the rolling suburbs of Columbus, Ohio. My kitchen is my happiest place: the spot where I experiment wildly on Tuesday evenings.

I've always believed that cooking should feel like play, not pressure, and that conviction runs through everything I do.

Whether I'm coaxing flavor out of a simple weeknight pantry or taking an ambitious swing at something I've never tried before, my approach is always the same: curious, hands-on, and a little bit stubborn in the best possible way.

Food, for me, has always been about people. Some of my most treasured memories happened around a table: loud dinners that stretched past midnight, quiet breakfasts shared over coffee, the kind of meals where no one checks their phone because what's on the plate is simply too good to ignore.

My Expertise

My cooking skills didn't come from culinary school or professional kitchens. They came from years of being the person who made dinner. I grew up watching my grandmother cook without a single written recipe, and somewhere along the way I picked up her habit of tasting constantly, adjusting instinctively, and refusing to give up on a dish until it was right. Over time, that instinct turned into a proper process.

What makes my recipes reliable is the same thing that makes them approachable: I write them for real people with real schedules. My goal is always to help home cooks build confidence, not just follow instructions.

My Journey

started CookWithMila after friends and family kept asking me to write down the things I was making. What began as a handful of recipe notes tucked into emails turned into something much bigger than I expected. The more I shared, the more people reached out to tell me that a recipe finally worked for them, or that they'd made something for the first time and felt genuinely proud of it.

My cooking journey has evolved right alongside the website. I've gone from a confident but informal home cook to someone who thinks carefully about technique, accessibility, and how to communicate clearly so that anyone, regardless of their experience level, can walk into a recipe and come out the other side with something delicious.

"I'm proud of this little corner of the internet because every recipe here has been made, tested, and genuinely loved before it ever reached you. What you'll find on CookWithMila are recipes that work the first time and taste even better the second."
